AUSTIN-Texas House Speaker, Joe Straus, released committee assignments this afternoon. Representative Margo has been assigned to the committees for Appropriations and Land and Resource Management.

"I'm honored and excited to be on these committees representing El Paso. I look forward to working with Chairman Pitts, as well as other members of the appropriations committee to balance the state budget and insure that El Paso has a voice," said Representative Margo.

The Appropriations Committee presides over legislation pertaining to the allocation of funds from the state treasury, and all matters related to the federal economic stimulus legislation.

The Land and Resource Management Committee presides over legislation pertaining to the use of public lands, power of eminent domain, and government regulation of land use.
