AUSTIN- Representative Margo has been appointed by Speaker Joe Straus, to serve on The Energy Council. The Energy Council was formed in 1975, and is comprised of eleven energy-producing states, as well as five Canadian provinces and Venezuela.

“I am pleased to appoint Representative Dee Margo (district 78) to serve on the Energy Council,” said Speaker Straus. “His experience on the House Land and Resource Management committee and his interest in energy policy issues will provide a much-needed Texas perspective in this role.”

"I am honored to serve on The Energy Council and represent Texas and El Paso in an industry that is so vital to our state. Clean and renewable energy is important for the future of El Paso, the state of Texas, and our nation. I look forward to working with the other members of The Energy Council on these important issues." said Representative Margo.

The Council serves as a forum to develop and understand energy, and related environmental policy. Members of The Energy Council meet throughout the year in different parts of the country.
